Subaru Loves Pets Month Lineup of Adopted Pets

Just one of the many reasons we’re so proud to be a part of the Subaru family is its dedication to initiatives far beyond the typical scope of the automotive industry. Through programs like Subaru Loves the Earth and Subaru Loves Learning, we know the automaker is much More Than a Car Company®. There are many initiatives that Subaru undertakes within the Subaru Love Promise and beyond, but one of our favorites is Subaru Loves Pets. Every year, Subaru dedicates a month to helping shelter pets find new forever homes, and last year the company broke the record books by housing more than 52,000 pets.

“Subaru is dedicated to supporting animals in need, including helping to unite thousands of shelter pets with their forever homes nationwide every October. Achieving over 52,000 pet adoptions in a single month would not have been possible without the support of our committed retailers, compassionate shelter partners, and everyone who embraced pet ownership in October.”

– Alan Bethke, Senior Vice President of Marketing, Subaru of America, Inc.

What is Subaru Loves Pets?

As mentioned, Subaru Loves Pets is just one of the many programs and initiatives found under the Subaru Love Promise. Through strategic partnerships with organizations like the ASPCA and BARK, Subaru of America finds ways to help animals all throughout the year; however, they put together a concerted effort each year throughout the course of one month. That’s Subaru Loves Pets Month, in which the automaker and its retailers – that’s us! – partner up with local animal shelters all across the country and donate $100 for every pet adoption that takes place there throughout the month.

With more than 600 participating retailers throughout October 2023, it was the most successful Subaru Loves Pets month yet. Not only did more than 52,000 shelter pets find loving new families to call home, but more than $1.8 million was raised and donated to various shelters, rescues and other animal organizations around the U.S.
