Last year the 2024 Subaru Forester was an incredible option within its segment, but this year will be even better as the 2025 Subaru Forester gets a huge overhaul. Design Updates
You can already get a pretty good idea of the differences where design is considered by looking at the comparison image atop this page, but to put things more in perspective let’s highlight some of the updates. The grille has been updated to adopt a much bolder aesthetic that mergest right into a pair of LED headlamps. Even the brand’s star cluster emblem has been updated this year, so the differences abound.
Performance Improvements
Technically, horsepower has dropped for the 2025 model year. The Subaru Forester is powered by a new 2.5L BOXER engine tethered to a Lineartronic CVT, but this new engine is only capable of 180 horsepower alongside 178 pound-feet of torque, in comparison to last year’s 182 hp. Despite this decrease in the technical numbers, performance has been improved thanks to a 10% stiffer chassis.
Other Differences
There are all kinds of other upgrades found in the 2025 Subaru Forester that are sure to get any car shopper excited. For example, last year’s Forester offered a 8” display audio screen as its biggest size, but this year you can opt for an 11.6” SUBARU STARLINK Multimedia system. That’s a pretty big update and difference when it comes to screens, even if the number might not seem that much bigger.
