That's the main update for the 2023 model year, the introduction of the Crosstrek Special Edition trim level. It comes with an exclusive exterior color in the form of Desert Khaki, as well as unique 17" Dark Gray aluminum alloy wheels and Crystal Black Silica door handles, side mirrors, antenna and front grille bar, plus Low Luster Black exterior badging. On the inside, the black and red upholstery is complemented by red contrast stitching throughout as well as Low Luster Black trim accents.

For the 2023 model year, all Crosstrek models equipped with the Lineartronic CVT will feature standard Subaru EyeSight Driver Assist Technology. This suite of safety features includes Automatic Pre-Collision Braking, Pre-Collision Throttle Management, Lane Keep Assist, Lane Departure and Sway Warning, Lead Vehicle Start Alert and Advanced Adaptive Cruise Control with Lane Centering. Additional driver-assistive technologies are available in the Limited trim level.

This year the 2023 Subaru Crosstrek is available in five different trim levels, starting with Base, then Premium, then the new Special Edition or SE trim, then Sport and finally Limited. The Base and Premium trim levels are both available with 6-speed manual transmissions or the CVT, which is standard on the other trims. Even still, almost every trim level is available with a package that adds even more standard content to the model, increasing its value that much.
