What sets the 2024 Subaru Impreza RS apart?
If you’re a Subaru enthusiast, then you probably remember the RS trim level from the first time it made its debut back in 1998. Real ones know that the WRX was actually a trim level of the Impreza before it became its own model, and the Impreza RS was a precursor for the Impreza WRX in the market here in the United States. The RS nameplate has been used on other models as well, but in the next-generation 2024 Subaru Impreza, the RS nameplate finally returns. What sets it apart from the other trim levels in which the Impreza is available?

Unique Features
While other Impreza trim levels will be powered by a 2.0L 4-cylinder SUBARU BOXER engine that’s capable of generating up to 152 horsepower and 145 pound-feet of torque, the Impreza RS will upgrade to its own more powerful engine. While it’s still a BOXER, it’s upgraded to a 2.5L 4-cylinder that can generate up to 182 hp alongside 178 lb-ft. of torque. The engine is tethered to the Lineartronic CVT but also features an 8-speed manual mode thanks to paddle shifters embedded in the steering wheel.
